(Dedham, MA) – Greater Boston Urology is pleased to announce that Congressman Joe Kennedy III will be leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Women’s Health Center at 910 Washington Street in Dedham. The ceremony will be taking place on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 10:30 AM.

Congressman Kennedy represents the 4th district in Massachusetts, which includes much of the area surrounding Greater Boston Urology’s Dedham headquarters and new Women’s Health Center.

The Center, which opened its doors to patients this past August, caters to female patients experiencing pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Angel Marie Johnson, a urogynecologist who completed her training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, is the Center’s director.

Urogynecology (also known as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery) is a surgical sub-specialty of gynecology that focuses on female pelvic floor disorders (pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and bladder and bowel dysfunction) with the goal of improving a woman’s quality of life.

One of Dr. Johnson’s hopes is for the Center to serve the local community. “There’s a dearth of urogynecologists in the area,” Dr. Johnson says. “We’re hoping Dedham will become a regional referral center for women with pelvic disorders.”

Regarding Kennedy’s visit, Greater Boston Urology COO Les Cavicchi says, “We’re thrilled to have Congressman Kennedy join us for this momentous occasion, and we look forward to giving him a tour of the Center and sharing more about the important work our doctors are doing on behalf of his constituents and people throughout New England and beyond.”
