A graduate of Lexington High School, Dr. Li has returned home to Massachusetts and works out of our Hyannis Care
Center.
We asked Dr. Li to sit down for a short Q&A, which you'll find
below.
DR. LI: It was later on in college during my studies in Biomedical Engineering. My team and I were pulling an all-nighter making improvements to medical devices. The work was incredibly rewarding, and it was also at that moment that I realized that I wanted to work directly with patients. Often, we get lost in the science and numbers, but being a doctor allows us to balance the science with the personal touch to form meaningful relationships with our patients.
DR. LI: Urology is one of the best fields in medicine (I might be biased)! It is an incredibly technically advanced field, pioneering laser and robotic surgeries. Urologists are always looking for ways to improve patient care through new, innovative treatments. Also, we see quite a variety of patients, and it is always a privilege to improve their lives through the lens of urology.
DR. LI: The patients are by far the best part of my day! I love spending time with my patients and talking to them. The most rewarding part is being able to improve people's lives significantly with our medications and surgeries.
DR. LI: Outside of work, I like to go on hiking trips, bike rides, and visit national parks. I also love going to sports events and trying out new restaurants with friends and family. Open to any recommendations people have!
DR. LI: Yes! My family still lives in Lexington. The most rewarding thing is that I get to give back and serve the region that I grew up in. I've been away from my home state for 15 years. It feels so great being in my home state again. I'm the biggest Boston Sports Fan (still remember watching the Sox break the curse of the Bambino in 2004).
DR. LI: Looking forward to working with everyone!
