eCoin Therapy

Treating Urinary Incontinence in Women & Men

The eCoin® Peripheral Neurostimulator is a small, coin-sized device designed to help treat urge urinary incontinence by delivering targeted stimulation to the tibial nerve, which plays a key role in bladder function.

Implanted just beneath the skin near the ankle under local anesthesia, the device automatically provides gentle nerve stimulation for 30 minutes twice a week.

How does eCoin work?

The eCoin® procedure is performed using local anesthesia, during which a small incision is made near the ankle to place the device beneath the skin. Patients typically return home the same day.

After the incision heals, patients return to their doctor’s office in about 2 to 4 weeks to have the device activated. Every three to four days, the eCoin device turns itself on, activates for 30 minutes, and then goes back to sleep.

Many patients begin to notice improvement in their bladder symptoms within about 4 weeks after activation, with additional improvement often seen by 8 weeks.
