Greater Boston Urology supports Rebel Football Program and Walpole community
FOXBORO_ On Monday, June 29th supporters of the Rebel Football Program will gather at the Foxboro Country Club for the annual 2015 Walpole Gridiron and Alumni Golf Tournament. Registrants will enjoy dinner and a live auction after a leisurely game played on the lush grounds of the 18-hole course.
As the event’s corporate sponsor with its donation of $2,500, Greater Boston Urology (GBU) has committed to ensuring the success of the tournament, which is the largest fundraising event for the Football Program. Greater Boston Urology has been a supporter and advocate of the Walpole Gridiron Club for the past three years. The Gridiron Club enables the town to organize a competitive team with the prestigious Bay State League, without incurring undue expenses for town taxpayers.
“Greater Boston Urology is proud to support the community of Walpole and the Rebel Football Program. The program encourages its players to be upstanding members of the community and positions them for a high-level of achievement both in the classroom and on the playing field. The Rebel’s philosophy of tradition, pride, and excellence, which the program instills in its players, encompasses the values which align with our own,” said Dr. Michael J. Curran MD, CEO of Greater Boston Urology.
Greater Boston Urology’s support of the annual event will give the Rebels financial aid for travel expenses, coaches’ salaries and equipment so the team, which is a great source of pride for the Walpole community, can continue its reputation of excellence. In addition to winning seven Super Bowls and receiving the title of Bay State League Champions fourteen times, the Rebels also excel off the field by contributing to the community during town events, including arranging seating and tables for Walpole Day and high school graduation. The team also participates in the St. Baldrick’s Kids for Cancer Charity by shaving their hair in exchange for donations to pediatric cancer research. By 2012, the Rebels had raised nearly $25,000 for the charity.
The 2015 Walpole Gridiron and Alumni Golf Tournament registration fee includes the greens and cart fees, scramble format, dinner, and a gift of appreciation. Prizes will be awarded for Low Gross Team, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Highest Gross Score. All participants are invited for drinks, live auction, raffle, and prizes after the post-golf dinner. For more information, visit http://walpolehighfootball.com/.
