Dedham, MA, May 2, 2023 — Greater Boston Urology, LLC recently announced the hiring of renowned urologist Micah L. Hemani, MD. Dr. Hemani will begin seeing patients June 1, 2023, at GBU's Dedham Care Center located at 910 Washington Street.
Dr. Hemani is a board-certified urologist who is well regarded among physicians and patients alike. For over twelve years, Dr. Hemani has been a member of the Steward Healthcare medical system and has served as the attending urologist for several area hospitals, including St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, Norwood Hospital in Norwood, and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Because GBU's Dedham Care Center is within close proximity to the various hospitals within the Steward network, Dr. Hemani will still be easily accessible to his existing patients.
When asked about what attracted him to GBU, Dr. Hemani says, "What impresses me most about GBU is its integrated approach to medicine. Patients can receive all their urological care 'in-house' and benefit from the collective expertise of over fifteen physicians. This leads to better patient care overall, which leads to better patient outcomes. I look forward to seeing my patients in Dedham, both existing and new."
Born and raised in Newburyport, Mass., Dr. Hemani earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University. He went to the University of Massachusetts Medical School for his medical degree and interned in surgery at New York University Langone Medical Center, where he also completed his residency training.
Dr. Michael J. Curran, GBU's Chief Executive Officer, says, "I have worked side by side with Dr. Hemani at Norwood Hospital throughout his tenure. I know he'll bring the best urology skillset and a true compassion for his patients to his new role with our practice."
Dr. Hemani is accepting new patients. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Dedham Care Center directly at (781) 762-0471.
